this month's empties - february products

I kept an empty bottle on my desk for a week as a reminder that I needed to reorder it. As it sat there waiting to be replaced, a thought came to me: I haven’t shared about this product yet! And not only did I use the entire bottle, I was going to order it again! Talk about a raving endorsement. So that got me thinking, what other products have I been using (and loving) and haven’t shared yet?!

So today I’m starting a new series: monthly empties. At the beginning of each month I will recap the products that I’ve run out of and share whether or not I plan to reorder them. This series will not only give you product recommendations, but I’ll better be able to speak to why I recommend it (or not).

Here goes.

tula skincare: the cult classic

This is not the first time this product has gone empty — it’s probably my third or forth bottle I love it so much. I am retiring it this month to try a new brand, but I know that if anything happens to my skin I can always go back to this one.

I use this product as the second wash in my skincare routine (after a makeup remove or oil-based cleanser). It’s a gel-based cleanser that removes impurities but doesn’t dry out my skin.

What I’m trying next: Monat Be Gentle Creamy Cleanser

tarte - maneater mascara

tarte cosmetics: maneater mascara

I am constantly switching out my mascaras. Ever since I removed my lash extensions I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect one. I always hear about people having a “favorite mascara” and honestly I just haven’t found it yet. I think the closest I got was the Lash Blowout Mascara by It Cosmetics. Even still, the application process was tedious so I kept looking.

The Maneater mascara didn’t fall short by any means — I would actually buy it again. I loved the volume it gave to my lashes and the applicator felt like it was coating every single lash. I did find myself using another mascara on top of it though to get the length I so desperately need. So I basically still remain on the hunt for the perfect mascara.

What I’m trying next: DIME Beauty Volume Mascara

monat - c radiance serum

monat: c. radiance

Monat isn’t a new brand for me, but it is a new skincare brand. If you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably heard me rave about their hair products. So when I had such great results from those, I decided to also try their skincare line. Boy am I glad I did!

This illuminating serum is step six in my skincare routine. Yes, I know, my routine has a lot of steps and if you’re interested in hearing more about them, you can read my 10-step skincare routine. For now, back to this amazing product. The C. Radiance serum helps improve overall skin texture and softness (something I definitely noticed within a week or so of using it) and contains ingredients like hyaluronic acid (a moisture magnet) and licorice root (for brightening).

This is one I already have in my shopping cart to reorder.

it cosmetics - bye bye foundation

it cosmetics: bye bye foundation

Another one that’s not a first for me — I love this stuff, especially on non-makeup makeup days. Tinted moisturizers can be so hard to find because I always feel like I still need to put makeup on over them; I prefer a more full coverage look.

But this one is perfect. It’s just the right amount of coverage while still being lightweight. And it’s especially great in the summer because it has an SPF.

I will also be reordering this one.

monat - intense repair treatment

monat: intense repair treatment

My holy grail 🙌🏼 this is one of my favorite products of all time. If you’re new here, I’ve struggled with thin hair my whole life and most recently, bald spots. I tried everything from supplements to shampoos and nothing made a difference. Until Monat.

This Intense Repair Treatment is one of the products I’ve used to help with hair growth. I spray it on twice a day (morning and night) and it’s made an insane difference on my hairline. You can check out my hair highlight on Instagram for some before and after photos.

I have already replaced this empty. I like to keep a back stock of this.
