I’m feeling all the love and I have you guys to thank for that. Last week was National Infertility Awareness Week and I used it as a chance to share our story. Jamie and I have been trying to get pregnant for over two years now; right after our miscarriage in October 2018. If you’re interested, you can read about that journey here. It’s been a long road, and unfortunately it’s just the beginning.

We’ve been through a bunch of testing (all of which came back normal) and a few rounds of different medications (none of which have worked) so we moved on to see a specialist. The first doctor we saw did a couple more tests (again, all normal, or even better than normal) and suggested one of two routes: IUI or IVF. He explained both, and was persuading us towards IVF. The odds are definitely better, but it comes with an enormous price tag.

Since it seems like such an extreme next step, we decided to get a second opinion. We’re still waiting to see this new doctor (it took two month to book an appointment with her) but we’re hopeful she’ll steer us in the right direction and we can get started on the next chapter.

Sharing this is personal. It’s uncomfortable. But my hope is that someone out there, even if it’s just one person, can read this and relate. Can read this and think thank God I’m not alone. Because although 1 in 8 couples struggle with infertility, it’s not something that’s normalized. It’s not something we talk about. And it needs to be. We all need to feel less alone.

best sellers

Ruffle Strap Tank Top — a Madewell sale find; it’s an elevated basic tank. I need more tops like this.

Linen Duvet and Pillow Sham Set — our current bedding that I’m still obsessed with. It looks so nice for a fraction of the price. Thank you Target.

Oversized Cardigan Sweater — one of my favorite Amazon sweaters; it’s super cozy and very versatile.
